By delving into the lives of both those navigating recovery and the dedicated professionals supporting them, we aspire to unveil the often-unseen realities of addiction treatment centers. In addressing the existing gaps in addiction recovery care in Kentucky, our original production strives to spark conversations, ignite change, and ultimately pave the way for a more comprehensive and compassionate approach to healing.

This year’s Gay-La will be hosted May 25th, 2024, from 6 PM-10 PM, at Art Sanctuary in the Germantown neighborhood of Louisville. Named FAT Gay-La, we have chosen a theme of self-love and acceptance with a special emphasis on creating a safe and comfortable space for LGBTQIA+ to come as they are. This is a fundraising event for abortion access as well as trans healthcare in a space where all bodies are beautiful and celebrated. The evening will feature 300+ guests, MC Fairen Kia, small bites, a cash bar, silent auction, burlesque & aerial performances, a few impassioned speeches, a DJ, and dancing. Following the event will be an after party to take place at Trouble Bar from 10pm - 1am.

This event will give an overview of intervention and outreach programs funded by Louisville Metro’s Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods with presentations about the “Outreach Academy,” the city’s new Gun Violence Dashboard and the local gun violence intervention and prevention ecosystem. Ideal session participants are individuals who live in communities that are the most affected by gun violence and who can easily connect with high-risk individuals.
