I come to this work with the lived experience of trauma in my life and a journey of healing from that trauma that has included symptoms of depression and anxiety. I deeply understand the power of therapy because I’ve experienced it firsthand. I’ve done (and continue to do) the hard work of healing and self-growth and am firmly committed to a life of self-exploration. I wouldn’t ask you to do something I haven’t done. I am deeply humbled by the therapy process and love being in this work.

I am currently in the process of becoming a certified Integrative Mental Health Practitioner which incorporates nutrition, movement and mindfulness into clinical work. As a person with Type 1 diabetes, I have special interest and expertise in working with those who have been recently diagnosed or are living with a chronic illness.

Also, as my personal and professional lives have been deeply impacted by grief, I am expanding my knowledge and skill in this area. I am currently enrolled in Megan Devine’s Grief Care Professional Certificate Program. Based on my life experiences and training, I also offer a unique, sound approach to working with suicide, grief, and people with vulnerable nervous systems due to chronic stress and/or trauma.

I am fortunate and profoundly grateful to have found my passion (which also happens to be my career) in/of supporting people across the lifespan - children, teens, adults and families - through struggles and challenges that life and our chaotic world present. I use an eclectic approach rooted in neuroscience and relational neurobiology to meet you where you are with what works for you.

My past work experiences include crisis work, intensive in-home therapy with children and families, school-based counseling, general individual counseling, and medical social work.

I have had the honor of calling Louisville, Kentucky my home for most of my life. While pursuing my bachelors degree in a non-related field, I began to realize that what really fed my soul was helping and connecting with others. My path became clear when I began studying social work with a concentration in child and family welfare at Spalding University. I knew intuitively this was my passion and I decided to deepen my learning by obtaining my master’s degree in social work from University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work.

I deeply believe that each of us has a well of inner resources, innate wisdom and strength, to tap into/call upon when faced with life’s challenges, adversities, and chaos. I view my role as being one to facilitate and cultivate that process with you.
